Feedetta Support

Setup guidance, common fixes, and a direct line for problems that need a human.

Compatibility: Feedetta currently works only with CommaFeed. Other RSS services and third-party Fever-compatible servers are not supported.

Connect your CommaFeed account

  1. Sign in to your CommaFeed website and open your profile settings.
  2. Find the Fever API details and copy the complete user-specific endpoint. A typical endpoint resembles https://commafeed.example.com/rest/fever/user/123.
  3. Copy your Fever API key. Keep it private.
  4. In Feedetta, enter the full endpoint, your CommaFeed username, and the API key.
  5. Tap Test Connection. When the test succeeds, tap Done to save and begin the first sync.

Security requirement: the endpoint must use HTTPS, and the server must support TLS 1.3. Feedetta does not accept an insecure HTTP connection.

Troubleshooting

Why do I get a 404 error?

The address is probably the CommaFeed website root or a generic /fever/ path instead of your user-specific Fever endpoint. Copy the exact endpoint shown in your CommaFeed profile.

Why does the secure connection fail?

Confirm that the server has a valid HTTPS certificate and supports TLS 1.3. Feedetta intentionally does not downgrade to an older or insecure connection.

Why is a full article taking a long time to load?

Full Webpage mode loads the publisher’s live website, so speed depends on that site and your connection. Switch to RSS Excerpt mode in Settings for a faster, locally cached reading view.

Can I use Feedetta with another RSS service?

No. Feedetta currently supports only existing self-hosted CommaFeed accounts. It does not support other RSS platforms or generic Fever-compatible servers, include hosted feed storage, or create a CommaFeed account for you.

Can I read while offline?

Yes. Feedetta caches recent items for the retention period selected in Settings. Read and star actions made offline are queued and retried on the next successful sync.

Does Feedetta see my API key or reading history?

The developer does not. Feedetta stores the credential locally in Apple Keychain and connects directly to the server you provide. See the Privacy Policy for complete details.

Do I need to restore tips?

No. Tips are optional consumable purchases that unlock nothing, so there is no feature or entitlement to restore.

Report a problem

Never send your password or API key. Feedetta uses Apple’s crash diagnostics and no third-party crash-reporting SDK. A concise description from you can still be essential for bugs that do not crash the app.

Privacy and purchases

Feedetta costs $4.99 as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription or recurring fee—buy it once and own it forever. Read the Feedetta Privacy Policy. App purchases and optional tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. For billing, refunds, or purchase-history questions, use Apple’s purchase support.
